Adding a turn signal to a 1994/1995 Discovery
Well, as us older Disco owners know, the 94 and 95 Discoveries only have turn signals in the rear bumper. Personally, I like the way it looks, but I was always really paranoid that some moron would miss seeing them during the worst possible time.
I had a tail lamp burn out, so I went about replacing it. That is a major pain in the *** if you have jump seats and big hands by the way. I got the driver side tail lamp assembly out, and I noticed that there was a blank where the turn signal would normally be. But this blank was a thin piece of molded plastic, easily cut out with my pocket knife. I borrowed the bulb and socket from the rear fog light, and put it where the blank area was. I hit the hazards, and low & behold, the sucker was blinking!!! Granted, the lens in the housing is red instead of amber, I don't care. As long as it blinks, that's all that matters to me!

Honestly, the most time consuming process was getting the damn tail lamp assemblies out. That is absolute hell. Doing the actual mod took all of 5 minutes per assembly. The sockets fit a little bit tight of you don't cut enough of the plastic away, but that is very easily fixed.
