Default adjust door glass

ok wife took the rover this morning and said the drivers window won't go back up.

I pulled the panel and it is trying but stuck.

removed the regulator and everything moves freely, motor also runs fully both ways, reinstalled works fine but what I do notice is the glass looks cocked forward a tad and when it reaches the top it tilts back to seal

is there a way to adjust the glass? I know some cars you can

Perhaps one of the plastic glides in the regulator is fractured.

Tom, how did you get the regulator out with the window stuck down? I am having the same basic issue, but on my passenger front window. Its stuck down and with the glass in the regulator wont come out. I have tried prying the glass up, but it wont budge and I don't want to break it.

Does the regulator slide within the track freely? Check the glides like Savannah mentioned; upon further inspection of my failed regulator, the front was shattered and the rear was cracked. Also look for debris in the channel.

With the door panel off, and the plastic cut and peeled back (duct tape works well to repair it) you will see various holes in the metal door, depending on position of window up/down you can access the screws that mount the track, etc.

Ok, I got the window up and disconnected the regulator. One of the glides has broken apart and the arm looks a little bent. The other two glides look fine. I will post some pics when I get it back in. Teeth on motor seem fine but I think the half moon gear had moved past where it could engage the motor teeth. It was also lubed with some sticky yellow grease that I removed and will replace with lithium when I get it back together. Going to look for glides now.

The bushings in the front regs do not just snap in replace like rear windows, there are a few threads on making the bushings and Modding the regulator

OK, I got it fixed. I went to the hardware store and bought a thread on furniture glide that is slightly too large but is the exact thickness for the rail. I threaded a couple nuts on it and then put that into a drill so i could turn it down with a razor. Got it to the right diameter for the rail and the sanded the edges rounder. To get the new glide into the rail I simply bent up the end where they had bent it down at the factory, slid the glide in and re-bent the ends. I cut down the threaded end and secured it with a nylock. the threaded end fit perfectly (1/4 x 20). I re-greased the entire regulator and reinstalled it. Works perfectly.
