Default aftermarket catalytic convertor for a 1996 discovery

i have done some searching on this site and another and can't seem to to get a consistent answer.

so, are there any aftermarket catalytic convertors that will work on an OBD2 compliant 1996 discovery?

i have the marbles in a can rattle from the passenger side cat. no CEL but i don't want to have any of the chunks break loose and clog up my exhaust. both driver's side and passenger side cats are the originals. i managed to get 204,000 miles of them.

thanks,

think you can buy a new y pipe with cats on ebay or try a new parts vendor looks like that runs from just under $400 and goes up in price, as for rebuilding the current y pipe you need small cats and welding ability, iirc pass side is realy squeezed in there

Magnaflow 99004HM (about $100 per cat and you'll wan to replace both) are the proper 2" diameter to make an easy fit.

I accidentally purchased the Magnaflow 99005HM which are 2.25" so the pipes had to be adapted. All in all it cost me $300 (Canadian including install).

The other brand is the Walker Catalytic Converters... 81712 (left) & 81916 (right)
