Default Air Filter Holding Up

Filter installed a while back, still very clean, 192,861 on clock now, plenty of sand, mud, and a few corn stalks under the hood. Stock air horn for the air box. So using the rag filter and the home brew Spanish Moss filter is not for me. Rural south Georgia has plenty of dust from fields and dirt roads, plus plenty of sand. Other parts of the state have that serious red clay.

What really happened is the foam rubber lip folded over and allowed all that Georgia "stuff" to entire the engine unobstructed by the filter hence leaving the filter perfectly clean.

He seemed so happy about his filter being still clean I couldn't resist. I could've said check the intake manifold bolts......

Valid point, I probably tore it when pulling it out from under the air box lid which had one corner hooked on the alarm switch bracket or something. Certainly something that gives me another reason to motor over to the parts store for a new one and also pick up another container of "start-u-bastid" spray.

If it sucked more air and less gas that would be an improvement.....
