Question Aircon and Re-circulate switches

Hi all,
My aircon and re-circulate switch on the heater control panel are not working. I have checked the fuses (with a meter this time!!!) and the relay and they seem to be fine. The blower control **** is working and the heater controls are working, yet the aircon and re-circulatrion switches are not. The light indicators on the swithces are not working either. I am battling to isolate this section i the wiring diagram of the haynes manual and am downloading the rave manual as we speak.

Any tips on where the problem could be?
Thanks a mil, in advance!!

Have you tried spray contact cleaner for electronic circuits? WD 40 will work the same if it is dirty or wet.

When you say they won't work, be more specific, how are each of them not working?

When pressing the switch in, the switches both engage, but the aircon compressor clutch does not engage and the light on the switch does not light up. The re-circulation switch is the same. Both switches are engaged when the blower is switched on. Neither switch has any effect on the circuits they are meant to power.

Sounds like there is no power goint to the switches?

Cheers

I have noticed that the rear glass de-mister is not working (I depress the button and the light does not come and the glass does not heat), but the cigarette lighter socket is and the speedometer is flicking all over the place. The fault with the speedometer seems to be intermitent!!
Any Ideas? - Aircon still not working. Does any one know where the harness joints and relays are for the aircon unit?
Thansk a mil
