How about the belt tensioner, it may be getting weak and not keep the proper belt tension?

Check the compressor clutch to see if the bearing is seized or not seated properly. Also see if the compressor is energized.Check compressor and air gap.

Hi Guys

Mike - Where is the belt tensioner? Also the noise is only on start up of the aircon, for about 5 seconds.

Also how do you check the compressor clutch and bearing ?What do you mean by energised?

Forgive me guys, i am really not a mechanically minded person. i therefore look for support from you helpful people.

many thanks
Suveer

Belt tensioner is going to look like this. Over time it loses its ability to keep the belt nice and tight, which cause squeels.

How long do belt tensioners usually last?

I've got a squeel, but.. not really...

let me explain..

If I have the AC turned off, it normally revs around 600-700 rpms... sounds amazing...

when I turn on the a/c OR rev to around 850ish-900 rpms I get a squeel!

Over or below that area, there is no noise... but once I turn the a/c on, or rev up there.. there goes the noise!..

what is it?!

Are belt tensioners easy to replace? first off... is it my belt tensioners?

Thanks in advance!!!
