As some of you know I just purchased a 97 Disco, previous owner never used the transfer case..therefore 4lo was stuck...took the solenoid out and wd40ed all the linkage....first try...4lo and diff lock...wonderful feeling...all the mechanicals are working...on to brakes and suspension and paint

Also, got new exhaust....

 

What exhaust did you go with and how much was it?

 

So, now comes the fun stuff. Read my major service list and do them all so you can get your truck totally current. The list was written for a D2 so use the proper fluids when doing your D1.

 

Yep I've done about 3/4 of your list..everything besides swivel points, brakes...everything else...check...i think i have an idler bearing making a funny noise..so i need to replace that.

Exhaust is a two chamber thrush muffler...cheap 70 bucks at local muffler shop..no real drone...cant really hear it when on highway..which is a plus...but nice aggressive...havent really calculated how much mpg im getting since the tune up and such...but on little over a 1/4 of a tank i have travel 110 miles plus some off road madness...not too shabby
