I was quite pleased, per the title of post, that the only code I'm getting is P0430 Catalyst Efficiency Low Fault Bank B.
truth be told I was expecting a few more. If someone would like to elaborate on it please by all means...

Oil PSI from mechanical gauge test? Knocking or ticking sounds? OBDII coolant temps?

You may be close to roasting meat to honor the Rover gods.

Oil pressure 36, no knocking or other sounds, coolant temp at high noon running down the road is 192/194, idle has not gone higher than 195 per the ultra- gauge but have the 180 temp stat to install this weekend.

Oil PSI would be above 10 at idle, and 30-40 at 2500 rpm hot. My 188K D1 makes 44 PSI. The d2 specs 50 PSI, but the D1 is a lower spec of 30-40. So not too bad.

I was idling it up while buddy read it. What should I check from here in regards to that code? He did tell me psi at idle...

Oil PSI cold is about equal idle and revved up, as bypass valve in filter is shunting oil flow around media. Once warmed up to operating temp, should be lower at idle; and maintain the same as cold on the revved up. I would think that hot idle at 36 PSI may indicate other problems.

As for 430, it is a code generated by comparing the values of the the front and rear O2 sensors to gauge if CAT is failing. Here is the GEMS ECU book, start on page 7.

Ok I read it and not that I have money to burn but I think I'll just buy all new O2 sensors and a catalytic converter...
