Default Allmakes4x4 brake line end different

In the midst of my brake line replacement and ordered new rubber lines from AB. The axle side is inverted flare, the stock hose is flat. is this bad? FIRI?

What part number did you order? Rear line should be NTC3458. That end goes into NTC7291 and the OE line is correct not the ALLMAKES.

If you are stuck go to Advance Auto and get a DORMAN H620301

Dorman Products - H620301

OR NAPA http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...310_0361244646

Take a look at the pics you will see the end you need.

my invoice has the correct PN, so does the bag the lines came in. i left a message with AB, i'll be speaking with them in the AM. i also ordered the hard brake line kit since i really didnt have the time to cut and flare fittings (nor did i want to) and the fitting going to the body side of this line is an incorrect bubble flare... it should be an inverted flare.

it would be much simpler if i could run to the parts store and correct it, but with this truck that unfortunately isnt the case.

So they sent you a hose with the wrong end and the hard line with the wrong flare. That sux, but at least AB is a good company and they will take care of it without a lot of BS.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

Bubble flare is correct. All the hard lines have a bubble flare, at least that I've come across.

so i've heard. not the biggest problem in the world, but it is a bit frustrating. i'm just used to running back to the parts store and correcting the issue.

nope, it isnt. this is the body side soft line:

both the allmakes and the OEM line were like that, and the OEM line that came off was (and has to be in order to seal) an inverted flare

dealing with AB has been disappointingly frustrating. i'm stuck until monday to speak with someone about this and i'm still out of a truck. i cant reuse my stock rubber hoses bc the threads are flattened on one end, and i should probably order a new pipe junction since this one is pretty rusty inside. i'll end up cutting and re-flaring the hard line myself.

I checked the hard line on my 96. It's a bubble flare where it goes from the body to the rubber line. Not sure on the caliper end.

That's really strange. Of course I'd end up with an oddball.

I just redid a bunch of my lines and all the hard lines have been bubble flares with an M10-1 thread
