alternator replacement... any tid bits of cleverness?
Well my original alternator seems to have bit the dust. Will do some testing when kids gets home from school to confirm.
Battery is brand new.
I will be installing a used unit which I bought from Will a few years ago in anticipation of this day. It has been sitting in a box in the 'parts corner' of a closet in the apartment since I received it.
So it should be a very easy bolt off, bolt on, but is there any little tips that are worth following? A shot of PB plaster or something of the sort in a specific area? Any little things to address while I'm there?

Well ...brake pads (not rotors though).
It is supposed to start raining just when I'm about to start. And of course it is already dark. Fun times.
The rain held off the the most difficult part of the job was getting the replacement alternator to fit into the bracket. Tapping the sleeve did the trick.
For future reference to help those searching the forum, this is what lit up on the dash when the alternator failed...
The battery, SRS, and anti-lock light are illuminated and the low fuel level light was flickering. The tachometer, which is fed by the alternator, was not functioning.
