Default Anti Lock issues

1997 Disco 1. Anti lock light started coming on intermittently. Larger concern though is the randomly when driving, when I brake, the anti locks will kick in (even a super slow speeds) and it sounds god awful. Like banging a broom stick against a metal garbage can. any thoughts on where to start?

Stealing this from a previous reply: "Open the hood, the fuse box on the left fender there is a fuse maked ABS, pull that fuse and save it for later use. You are done. The ABS light will come on on the dash, but thats all, you are good to go."
Don't try to fight it, you will NOT win. Let it go, Indiana, Let it go...

Some have had luck resetting (pushing in) the ABS sensors, or have gone as far as installing new bushes.

I did not try to install new bushes, and resetting was only temporary for me, so I pulled the fuse to avoid the panic.

Typically your symptoms would indicate the ABS computer is not seeing pulses from the sensors. Sometimes simply tapping them back into place works. Other times new sensors are needed.

Check out the 'ABS blink code' to see what the computer doesn't like.
