Default Antifreeze containment during 60k maint

I have been working on my 60k maintenance. After reading about the hassle draining the radiator, I came up with a simple solution to keep the fluids from running all over the floor. I have used this technique also when replacing the coolant reservoir on my Discovery and Explorer.

I make a sluice out of a standard garbage bag; I tuck one end above the drain point and make a V of the bag with the bottom ending in the bucket or pan that I am using to collect the fluids. The bag fits around the frame or other obstructions which make collecting the fluids a pita.

When I am done with the drain, I simply turn the bag inside out and dispose of the paper towels etc after I drain the antifreeze into a recycling container.

96 Discovery SE7, 120k miles. New wires, plugs, fluids, belts, hoses, & fuel pump.

Here is a photo when I was changing the transfer case oil on my son's car. There was a cross member which would get really messy so I just put the open end of the bag on the cross member and the other end in the container.

You can also get a largish diameter length of clear vinyl tubing, 5 feet maybe, remove the plug on the top of the radiator, stick the tube all the way to the bottom of the tank and siphon out nearly all the coolant. Then when you remove the lower hose there's only a little coolant left.

When I had my radiator recored I had them install a drain **** on the bottom left. That makes it easy too.
