Im looking at a ad on Clist for a 1999 Land Rover Discovery Series I SE7 with 4.3l v8. Do they even make a 4.3?

 

Chevy did I think.
Rover had a 4.2 offered in Range Rover Classics.

 

Ive never seen a 1999 Discovery 1 in the US though the common belief is that Discovery 1 went on through mid 1999. Discovery 2 only had 3 known engine options from factory: Td5, 4.0 and 4.6. Its possible that a older block with less liter rating was swapped into the truck, but its more likely a typo or bit of misinformation on the posters end. Ive seen a fair share of incorrect statements or spec details in the description section of cl ads. "1997 Discovery 2", "2005 Discovery 2", "Range Rover Discovery", Discovery 2 with "BMW" engine, Discovery model listed as a Range Rover Sport etc.

 

Ask for a picture. That will clear it up real quick.
