Default Anyone need to replace their fuel tank vent hose?

This weekend I'm going to do r and r on my fuel tank.

Got parts to replace everything; fuel pump, vent hose and filler hose. I will try to post pics.

So I bought this:

Traveller® 3/4 in. x 14 ft. Fuel Hose - Tractor Supply Co.

And intend to cut it up for the vent line. It's 14 feet long, and after cutting and saving a spare I figure I'll have enough left over for another line.

If you are having as much trouble as I did sourcing 3/4" fuel rated hose locally let me know I'd be happy to help a forum brother out and mail it to you for cost of postage.

It's on my list, like way down on the list! I just stop the gas pump at 18 gallons so it doesn't overflow!

I was having issues with the fuel pump stopping constantly a couple of fillups ago, and used the "pour fuel injector cleaner down the vent hose" trick. It seemed to work, until a couple of fillups later. Pump went clicking again, so I got home and tried something else. I turned on my compressor, fitted an air spray gizmo that had a small diameter outlet that fit down into the vent hose at the fuel neck (6 o'clock position), sprayed some compressed air down there, and no problems at the next fillup. 'Course it didn't occur to me that maybe shooting compressed air down the vent hose might not have been a good idea, but I figure if something is clogging it, that should've cleared it out, for now at least...

Default Size of the bigger hose?

What size hose did you use for the bigger hose and where did you get it?

I have a cracked vent hose and will be working on it soon. Do you have any idea what postage would be to 55016? Thanks - Paul

i had the problem with the tank being reluctant to accept fuel for a while. Could take 45 minutes to get enough fuel in the tank to go anywhere, and was intermittent. I always thought it was a sticky one-way rollover valve, the one that keeps fuel from flowing back out the filler neck in the event of a flipper. It never occurred to me it could be the vent hose. Cleared itself up, regardless.

Doing it as we speak. I decided to cut another small access hole rather than drop the tank, and I'm really happy I did. Easy Peasy! I will measure it up and post a template for anyone else who might have a dremel & desire to do it this way.

Reviving this thread from the dead..... Any chance you could measure this up? I need to replace the vent line too. Technically, I could just repair it since the leak is not on top of the tank, but I figured it'd be cleaner to replace the entire length of hose.

The total length of the vent tube ESR1056 is just under 32"

Funny. I was just logging on to search for this topic. I need to replace my vent hose. Does it require removing the gas tank? I have a 1996 disco 1
