Hey all,

So I've been searching around for the RAVE / workshop manuals, and all the links people have provided on previous posts seem to be dead now... I did find a working link to download some PDF manuals, but there was only the 1995 Disco I manual and I've got a '98. Wouldn't be such a big deal but I'd like to have the right one for my model year as there are a few things that are different. Googling around, I see there's a 1995-1998 Disco I Workshop Manual for sale some places, but they're charging around $100 for it which is stupid. So I thought I'd bring up the manuals again to try and get some working links out in the open. Thanks!

Thank you, this is a fantastic source, but it's only got the workshop manual for the '95 Disco I'm looking for a manual like the one here. Specifically, I was looking at the procedure for servicing the timing cover and there's lots of talk about disconnecting the distributor. That's great and all except my vehicle doesn't have a distributor. So one might say just ignore those bits of the instructions but call me paranoid, I just want the manual that's specifically for my model year just in case there's some small but important detail I'd miss using the 1995 one.

 

You're overthinking it. Go down section 12 to the part specific to the 4.0 to see specific procedures that differ from 3.9. Whether distributor or not, 3.9 and 4.0 have the same timing case front cover
