Default axle problem?

I replaced the left front axle and transfer case on my 97 disco back in June. Now I have gear oil coming out from somewhere.

I have oil leaking too, you are going to have to be a little more specific.

Before you go any further, be a lot more specific, your thread is a waste of our time with out specifics.

Default sorry guys, let me rephrase that

Let me start over....I had the axle and transfer case replaced in June with used parts...the only thing he put on was the axle with swivel as it came. now (after the 90 day warranty is gone, of course) i have what smells like gear oil all over my wheel... i wash it off and by the time i drive to work the next day there's more. i've babied it since i had the work done but i've got almost 190,000 miles on it so....i hope this is more specific for you, im not a mechanic, can do some engine repairs but never dealt with axles. thanks for anything you can tell me.

Sounds like a swivel ball rebuild and time to replace the seals. What was the swivel ball filled with after the axle rebuild, gear oil or the one shot packet from LR?

I'm guessing the ball was filled with gear oil.

I would say a rebuild kit from AB is in order. In the meantime you better check to see what the fluid level is like in that swivel ball. If it is leaking that badly and you are still driving it, you may start doing some damage. Maybe the other guys have a more specific idea but if you are having a problem with the seals this quickly after a rebuild then it was either done wrong or they used old seals. Either way it all needs replacing IMHO.
