Default Bad MFU?

My interior lamps, all 3, are flickering now and then. Mostly while driving but sometimes even when ignition is off. Also whenever the lights flicker I will find that the rear washer will have spit out a little fluid too. I have checked every fuse and ground. MFU self diagnostic seems to pass. Everything works when needed or activated it's just the random flicker. Also, with fuse 12 pulled I had battery voltage on both sides of the fuse holder. I have searched but hoping someone will have experienced similar symptoms. 97 D1

Funky door switch? Maybe bump/jiggle doors to see if you can replicate it. Don't know about the rear wiper squirting though. Might just be a bad ground somewhere.

Pulled all the door switches and unplugged them. While I was cleaning them I left the key on and the lights still flickered. So it's not the switches.

check the ground post (hidden where it gets wet )behind the drivers side kick panel....there are a few grounds attached to it...and while you're there check out the bank of relays.....mine were damp and one was corroded.....and fwiw....the relay closest to the door is the MFU relay....when that relay goes, so do a lot of things.....I had no intermittent wiper, no rear wiper, no power to the radio, and whacky interior lights

I will check out that relay but I already checked that ground. I also got my new used mfu today so I will swap that in if the relay doesn't look bad. I wish I had a known good mfu to try. If this one doesn't fix it does anybody have a known good one? It would help a lot to buy one that is known to work. Also going to upgrade to the newer cruise ecu in hopes of getting that to work too. I found a great write up on that swap. I'll post how it all shakes out tomorrow.
