I have used driveshafts (with good u-joints) with the appropriate four bolt flange, spacer and associated hardware for $150 including shipping in the continental US. I think you are missing something.

Yes, we've already established that I didn't realize the four bolt flange even existed. This rover stuff is all new to me. Had I realized all of the above, I would've bought the setup from you. This will do for now, though.

This forum has been a great resource, lots of good people that enjoy working on their trucks and finding solutions to things rather than paying someone else to do it. I'm on vortex as well as valvecovergasket and a few others here.

People on vw forums like vortex can be vicious. Course, sometimes the level of asshattery that previals there can be paled in comparison to what you find on d-web. They're both great resources, you just have to have thick skin and know how to phrase things and use the search or the vultures will pick your bones clean before you know it.

I recognized a few familiar names here. Trust me, I've got thick skin.

Btw my vortex sn is neverthesamecar, but I'm not on there much these days. I have a few swallowtails I'm parting but that's about it... too saturated with douchery.

Wow, 2 out of 3 that I could see are bad.
Nice job with the TIG and resurfacing the hole for the bolt.
Could use that to repair my front drive shaft 3 weeks ago.
