just to the right of where I sit is the drive zone, the sand is like powder. Growing up this was my beach but we were allowed to drive both directions and closer to water in the hard pack. now its one way, up high close to the dunes and to answer your question, no. it would not idle thru it. I've driven this beach in Isuzu troopers, jeep cj's, Suzuki sidekicks, and F150 4x4 supercrew and never had I have one just refuse to go thur it. The disco would immediately start to dig in and bury. I thought for sure the "all wheel drive would be more than enough to go thru it but boy was I wrong.

Were you able to engage the CDL in "lock"?

No. I just finished fixing the two ruptured hoses and took it for a test drive. Gonna look at the linkage in a bit. I was working it pretty hard trying to get it in yesterday from the Hi and Low position. Couple things from the test drive.
The oil light is still on, does it have to be cleared or should it go out on its own? When I first started out it ran fine came right up to 70mph but as it heated up it would not go passed 50, when I gave it gas the rpms would jump up but the speed felt like it was bogging down. I did hear what sounded like it was missing but only a couple times when trying to accelerate. I have a new set of 8mm plug wires and plugs to put in.
I've read several of the cooling threads and when I turn my fan it spins freely. feel no resistance at all. I know that's a bad thing and will be ordering a new fan clutch tonight.

I'd be careful with the oil pressure light.. its supposed to be on <7psi i believe ... if somethin bad happened (oil pump jacked up, or lost sump tube/strainer etc)..

I'd look in the RAVE and see if you can get an external pressure tester hooked up, hopefully the old one just failed but if you keep running it and the stock one is actually reporting an error then you could do some serious damage.

You have angered the yuppie rover gods by trying to use the vehicle for something it was designed to do

Hope you learnt your lesson
Just kidding

you may want to do an oil change could have boiled the oil and "burnt it "

Oil light is no joke. A mecahnical gauge can be attached, you just unscrew the switch. Engine should be rather noisy with that low pressure.

The bad clutch would have killed your slow or parked cooling. As coolant escaped, the heat sensor poke thru the roof of the intake lost contact with liquid and truck got hotter but gauge or OBDII scanner would not have followed as quickly.

If they've been angered now wait till I get it running right!

The oil does look a little darker than it did gonna do a change this week. Good news is level didn't increase and no sign of coolant in it...
