Hey Guys,
I recently bought a discovery 1 that needed head gaskets.
Well me and a buddy got working on it right away. The thing is that when we took off the cylinder heads we found out that the block had a part eaten away close to the water jacket 😬sooo what we did is put jb weld on it and sanded it down... lol. My question is can I use this block or is it far gone?? I really don’t want it leaving me stranded in the middle of no where! Thanks in advance guys!
I would've welded it and had it decked. If it's just corrosion I think it would survive, if it's hogged out by steam coming out from between the block and liner I'd say it aint gonna survive....... What did the gasket look like?

The gasket was missing part of it but not from there 🤔 we’ll put it back together and the engine seems fine but I fear that it will last me no more than 5k miles 😐

It may last a whole lot longer, these motors are hard to kill.
