Default body lift?

pulled the trigger on some 285s, finally. been looking at picks and i came across a few with 2 inch ome and 2 inch body lift, i love the look. i love the stance. its mean looking. i also dont want to cut my rover up too much so ive been thinking of getting the rte 2 inch body lift kit. would you recommend a body lift?

you'll get the mean look, but be more top heavy without compensation. if its for looks, that works.

You won't get a mean look, you'll get a weird look. You're front and rear bumpers will have large gaps between them and the body. It will either look dumb or you'll have to spend money to correct them.

I thought I remember Antichrist posting that one of his discoveries had a body lift. If I'm remember correctly maybe he can post a photo so you can see what it's like.

I could be remembering wrong.

I don't know why people talk about body lifts making a Rover top heavy. Inch for inch a body lift is less top heavy than a suspension lift.

What about just doing a 1 inch body lift?

a 1 inch body lift wont be bad. you can fabricate or have some brackets fabricated so that your bumpers fit the body and not have a little gap. If it bothers you

I have the RTE 2" lift. The one sold by DAP appears to be a better kit as it also includes extensions for the body rests mind chassis for the rear body floor, but it's a good deal more expensive than the RTE. And you can fabricate your own, though I've never gotten around to it. I'm doing a lot of work on my '95 at the moment so might go ahead and make them while I'm at it.
I'm not sure I'd bother with a 1".

Got the tires on today. I like the look. It's perfect. Not huge but not small. Gunna hold off on the body lift for now but I'm considering wheel spacers or just longer steering stop bolts so if someone else is driving they won't kill my tires
