Default Bog down under hard acceleration?????/ high idle in park? wtf?

Hey guys so having a new symptom from my 98 Disco 1.

-----It starts just fine first time every time, idles fine when started right about 800 to maybe 900 rmp .

After it is warm from and driving a bit im getting a bogging down sensation when i try to accelerate hard.
I will be cruising in town like 25mph and if i punch the gas the revs drop from about 1.7k to looks like 8-900! This happens only for a second and while still having my foot on the gas after that initial bogging down it will accelerate to where id expect
it only does this with sharp sudden throttle increases. if i was going the same speed and depressed the gas a bit slower but still full power there would be no issue at all. im not sure what this might be a symptom of???

side track to 3 days later i was driving it to work all going fine. Idled fine when it started and drove fine 100% to work. However when i parked and was still in drive the idle was normal 900 maybe 1k rpm but when i shifted into park the engine went up to 1,400 and stayed there. i shifted back into D and then R and on both occasions the truck went back to idling like normal. what would cause a high idle in park?!!

Thanks Guys! Any help would be great!

sounds like high idle with some other intake/ignition issues

search 'high idle' for robertf 's little reset program - youll need to connect the obd2 to a computer via obd2 to usb or bluetooth.

for ignition make sure your up to date on maintenance / cleaning of the intake, IACV, MAF butterfly valve, plugs are fresh and gapped, coil packs and wires are good.... etc...

thats where I would start - good luck

800-900 seems high to me.
I'd replace all the vacuum lines.
Clean up throttle body.
Remove the IACV, very carefully so not to move the pintle, and clean where it seats.
Check throttle cable adjustment.
Do you have scanner (ie ultragauge)? Might have a dead spot on the TPS.

get a reader for your truck. It will save you hours of time and bunch of money.

Thanks Guys! i will check on a few of these things, i do have a Bluetooth OBD11 running dash command but was definitely getting weird reading from the TPS. i thought it was an error with the app because they made no sense.

I am on vacation now but will get back with what i find when im home again.

Now if only i could get my diff lock unstuck....
