Default Brake fluid leak

I have been noticing that my brake pedal almost goes to the floor before any stopping power occurs. Well on my way out to the parking lot at work i found a small puddle under the front driver side tire and this is what i found. Im just wondering what are the 2 brake lines going in to is that a valve or connector of some sort? and if so is it the line that usually leaks or that cylinder thats connecting the 2 lines? Im just trying to find out what i need to replace, Any help would be appreciated.

I think that's a coupling/union fitting but its hard to tell. That line is toast though. I'd replace it ASAP and also check all the other lines.
