Default Brake Fluid resivour leaks

Hi All,

I looked through the neat repair list of all the usual stuff that goes south, but I did not see a "how to" on fixing a leak from the brake fluid resivour..the top of it is clean..cap is dry..mine seems to leak from the base of the plastic resivour, and from what I can tell, there is no crack, and watching it while applying the brakes, (engine running), does not drip/spray/splatter any fluid, but obviously it is, as from the bottom of that, the wheel well, frame is coated, and occasionally drips on the ground. Is there an "O" ring I need to replace, or, with my luck, do I need to replace the entire thing that attaches to the canister?

Thank You all for the help!

Hey CB, got the same issue...page 606-607 in the RAVE show the blown up pic. There are 2 rubber grommets/o-rings that will fail. How do I know, mine are leaking too and need to get to them this weekend. Looks like it's just set to the M/C by those grommets, meaning no hardware to remove. Check the pic, looks like you sort of tilt it and it will remove.

10. Ease reservoir out of master cylinder taking care
to ensure that two outlet ports on bottom of
reservoir do not become damaged during this
process.
11. Withdraw two reservoir seals from master
cylinder inlet ports. Note for reassembly these
seals are different. Discard seals.
12. Remove retaining ring and ’O’ ring seal from
machined outer surface of master cylinder.
Discard both seal and retaining ring.

Pretty sure the only way you can buy those o-rings is by buying a complete rebuild kit. Tegular rubber o-rings won't work and will be dissolved by the brake fluid.
Atlantic British has the kit.
Make sure to do a full 2 quart, DOT 4 brake flush when done.
