My 98 LSE in Woodcote Green was a true 50th Anniversary Edition with the different color seats/piping, floor mats, body colored bumper end caps, front spoiler, special wheels, and body colored mirrors. I still have a pic somewhere of the original window sticker showing the 50th Anniversary Edition features and price of the package, however it did not have that plaque on the wood trim on the dash or the pinstripe.

It was a fabulous D1 and I miss it a lot, but I sold it to a great person and they are taking excellent care of it.

im Gathering there were three three different “50 Anniversary” related Discovery 1’s produced in 1998.

1. The most common, the 1998 year model with the “50 Years of Land Rover 1948-1998” decal on the back windows. All 98’s had the decals.
2. A limited run of Woodcote Green trucks without the plaque.
3. A very limited run of only 50 Woodcote Green trucks with a commemorative plaque on the dash.

Good morning. I have a 98 Woodcote Green with TWR wheels and the different interior and all options I believe except the rapid defrost windshield. I have been looking for information on these as well since I had someone offer to buy it off my at the gas station. Then I saw a post from Paul about his, I think mine was built Feb 2, it has 87k miles on it now. I’ll take a couple pics please excuse the mess, of course the headliner was falling so I removed it yesterday and I am adding new speakers and radio with new wiring leaving all original in place so the next owner can reinstall to old radio if they like.

Sorry I forgot, mine does not have any 50th stickers or plaques but I have the floor mats and rear cargo mat with the 50th stitched on them. While I have you all here is the amplifier placement and radio different in these? No sub amp I’m the rear door and radio amp is under drivers seat. I hate sneaking in a question here but it might save me all day. Thank you

On the #32 I have the sub amp in the rear door and a cd changer under the passenger seat. There is also some box under the drivers seat which I am not sure what it is. This Anniversary Edition was purchased new by a doctor in Lexington, KY and came from a dealership in Knoxville, Tennessee. Nothing has ever been changed or altered on this special D1. Would be happy to take any more pictures or document anything anybody would like.

Thanks,
Paul

RB, Yours would be the LSE trim in Woodcote Green. You have the painted mirrors and painted bumper end caps, silver door handles.. They made LE trim also in Woodcote Green minus the painted mirrors and bumpers, with black door handles.

RB, I see in April 0f 1998 there were models of the 50th Anniversary released in the UK as well with special wing badging but no numbering. There was 1000 of them, 800 units of Atlantis Blue and 200 units of White Gold. Probably none of those in the states.

Thank you guys for the info, mine does have Crome front and rear bumpers and the chrome bull bar if that’s what it’s called. Also mine came with PIAA front driving lights but there was no wiring so I took a D2 fog light switch and wired it up so I could use them. They are needed around here with deer everywhere and headlights that need the help.
