Another thing i find when looking at a non running auto is you don't get to feel out the ride. Will it need suspension work in the near future. I am a car guy just like most of use here. I am just salivating over it and haven't even seen it. But at the end of the day that beautiful ride can turn but ugly really quick. If you have the money, talk him down in price is what most on this site have said to me, but if value is important buy the best one out there...a 5 speed.. hum

The 5 speed does not last. Although I agree that it could be worth more than an automatic in a market where they are relatively rare, at 180k miles, it won't last. You could be looking at a rebuild, in which case you might as well swap a rebuilt 5 speed into any automatic Discovery.
