Talking Buying a Rover, need mod help

hey all,
so when i come back from my deployment, i have a stock Discovery I waiting for me. heres what i want to do:
-OME 2" Heavy duty suspension kit, with regular OME shocks
-larger, more aggressive tires on stock rims
-heavy duty winch bumper for the front
-heavy duty bumper for the rear
-snorkel
-roof rack

basically in the end, id like a Rover that is very similar to a Camel Trophy Rover. ive seen some of your guys Rovers, and i was wonder where you get your mods, what brands you all recommend, good tire/size, etc.

im new to the Rover world, im coming from the LandCruiser world so im not completely ignorant. any help or advise anyone would like to offer would be greatly appreciated.

cheers,
Hunter

first thing i would do would be a full maitenance. the rest is all preference based. for tires i like Treadwright with your lift i would go Guard Dog 265/75, I like Rovertym and Terrafirma winch bumpers. I like the HLC and Terrafirma rear bumpers. Mantec snorkel and an Safety Devices or Roverracks rack, and the aftermarket ladder from atlantic british. i would also consider some steering protection, diff guards and rock sliders if i were you. and of course a good battery like sears plat dh 34m with mil-spec terminals

if you get a roof rack dont forget the ladder, baja racks makes an affordable rack as an alternative to the SD rack
for bumpers, arb is an option but some people dont like them because the tend to angle upwards after constand winch use
and some snorkel choices are mantec and safari (safari stands out and pulls the chicks, mantec is less obvious and not plastic) you decide

Off-road it for at least 6 months before you do much of anything, too see what it needs to meet your needs, not what you've seen in photos.

That is the best advice possible!

Rover-excitement and mod-crazy desires will end up costing you a good chunk of change...

Take Tom's advice on this and you just may find the stock function (ability) of this vehicle is very good. Now, if it is just for looks then spend away.

By all means get it mechanically correct with any ignored maintenance before you go spending bucks on mods.

Where are you going to be upon your return?

Good Luck and thanks for your service to the keep us all free.
