I guess since both are adjustable (right) you could then make them as large as possible to fill out the top of the cushion. Screw comfort...and I'm rarely using em anyway. I would think the cushion headrest would fit better as it seems to take up more space than the hoop.
I'm pretty sure they'd fit the cushioned kind. They're adjustable.

Check out the Escape Gear:

Adventure Trailers - Seat Covers

$632 for a pair of cotton canvas covers. But you know it will be in Overland Journal, so that makes it worth it.

FWIW I just had a shop quote me for completely recovering (all panels, top, bottom, sides, seat and back) my seats (D1). Their labor is $150 per seat. With premium vinyl the total cost was about $460 for the pair (labor, material, shipping, etc.) For leather in the same areas as stock it was a little over $800 out the door for the pair. I would have had a wide choice of vinyl or leather colors, including very good matches to stock, with or without perforations etc. Shops labor rates will vary, so I mention this just as a ballpark for others.

My other options are a to find a passenger seat cover (at least the base) out of a salvage yard to swap into the driver side...

or some suspension seats (MasterCraft, PRP etc.) which would be the priciest but better for the money that recovering the stock seats in leather...

or some seat covers. The Cabellas have a great price, for sure, but I'm willing to consider something better if there is. The Escape Gear are a rip-off. I'm hoping for a good price on Takla, still checking that out. I'm not sure that they're better than the Cabelas though. I can tell you the Cabelas look better to me than Exmoor which look like they're just nylon bags.

These are kind of cool, but it looks like $99 each and some reviewers complained about quality.

Been researching more and found it appears Takla, Melville and Moon and Escape Gear are all about the same price range, over 5000 Rand for a set. There's usually a pretty hefty markup for South African stuff from the US distributors too. Even used ones are trading for similar prices as custom (non-leather) upholstery. Too bad.

did you look at these: Car Seat Covers | Seat Covers | Custom Seat Covers | Truck Seat Covers | Automotive Seat Covers. the fit is very good. they aren't cheap.

I'm pretty sure i'm reupholstering in black vinyl at $100 per seat. It's perfect for this ride and my hose out approach. i'm really not liking the look of covers. i don't even like the official lr covers for my D2.

If I went covers, i'd probably go for these Cabella's for price/look/performance. if anything i might do reupholster and cabella.

im wondering if i should lose the headrests entirely.

The Wet Okole look like a good product but they don't match my Rover's "theme". Neoprene looks too beach.
