Question Cant open door from the inside. Driver door

When I bought the rover the handle was broken off. I removed the door panel and replaced the handle but the new handle still wont open the door. It will open from the outside and the locks all work fine. I tried to find an adjustment area with no luck. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance

There is a adjusting rod that goes from the inside handle to the latch, with the inner door panel off move the inside handle and follow the rod and adjust it accordingly.
You can also loosen the slide the inside handle forward to take up some slack, thats what I had to do.

Remove the inner door panel, move the inside door release, watch the rod that moves, it is attached to the door release and the latch, there is a adjustment on the latch end, adjust it.

Like I said I have already done all that however I do not see an adjustment point. What size wrench does it take? Is it located behind on the very far end of the rod where you cant see it?

Dude, the rod itself is threaded, you turn the rod.

Default Won’t open from the outside 🥵

Jesus this is a pita.

I can now do the upper pivot hook without looking.

But I’ve adjusted the bottom 8-10 times

to much threaded down (counter clock wise). And the slider all they way down. And even the inner door handle will not unlock.

2hrs later I realize you cannot test the tension setting without the door being shut 😡.

is there a better way to align this pita? Heres my vid.(it’s 256mb so gotta link it) 🥺

So Learned:
to far down - counterclockwise wise . It will bind the inner door latch as well.

to far up (clockwise ) so there’s less threads at the top, definitely no engagement.

the 2-2.5inch of adjustment the Lower clip has? I have it set all the way down … assuming it needs to “push” the lever down.

but that is my theory. There isn’t any info I’ve found aside from this thread on the door handle latch adjustment.

dumbest design award for sure.

somebdoy got info on how to calibrate this damn door. Much appreciated!!
