Default Car Pictures

Here are a couple pictures of my 1997 Disco.

The first two are when I brought it home. The last three are just the other day, 90% done with most of the rust renovations.

Let me know what you think! I think I like it more with the front bumper off, or I will take the bumper and cut it a bit smaller.

What I have done to it so far.

-cleaned all back floor rust (cleaned and prepped and covered)
-passenger side put in a 12x20 piece of 16 gauge steel to cover holes, sealed and enamel painted
-redid the headliner on my own, not to bad of a job
-painted wheels
-cleaned air intake
-tore out all old cat pee smelling carpet
-sanded most of the underbelly and painted with a rust enamel paint, looks really good

What I still need to do:
-still need to flush radiator
-change oil
-change fluid in diffs and transfer case
-new oil filter
-new tires (anyone have some 245 75 16 for sale?)
-fab up a front winch plate on the stock bumper

Josh

Thanks, I have a couple sections on the hood under the decal and on the passenger side rear panel. The paint is bubbled and I have not been able to find a good match for paint, so It will look much better when I get that figured out.

Any suggestions on a new set of tires, on the cheaper side?

I prefer and recommend the Cooper Discoverer S/T, they have a new version of it out now, I have no experience with that version.

www.treadwright.com has cheap tire prices.

Are there any issues with running retread tires, because isn't that Treadwright is? I have read some reviews, do I need to be worried that the sidewalls are from used tires?

No, no issues running re-treads.
Semi's do it all the time, unless the truck is new it has re-treads on it.
Keep them at the proper PSI and you are fine.
All of the tire carcass's you see on the highway are from re-treads overheating, 99% of the time its because of low tire PSI or a new tire put on the same side as a used tire (dual tires)
I could explain the whole no-no on that but I will save you the hassle of reading it, unless you really want to know.
Anyway, re-treads are fine, I dont have Treadwrights because they dont have the size I want.
