Default Carrying spare parts (electrical mainly)

What spare parts do you either carry on the truck itself, or keep in the garage? I'm clearly new to Discos but I read a lot of threads and see that people have lots of parts on hand that they switch out when the parts go bad.

I'm not talking about spare alternators and whatnot, but relays, switches, sensors, etc.

I looked for some kind of master list but I didn't find one.

So if you just purchased a Discovery and were going to spend some money on the intertubes to buy spares using the knowledge you have of them, what are the "must haves" that you would keep on hand to save 2-3 days of ordering and shipping?

Thanks!

If you're buying new parts as spares you should put the new parts on the truck and keep the old as spares. The goal is to avoid trailside repairs if at all possible.
Bring a spare of any part that can leave you stranded if it goes bad.
There was a pretty comprehensive on Expedition Portal I'll see if I can dig up.

Without having read the 11 something pages beyond the initial list, I would make some changes

Minimum Critical Spares List:
MAS Airflow Sensor - no, the vehicle runs without it
Fuel Pump - yes
Fuel Pump Relay - no, you can bypass it and send 12v directly to the pump
Upper and Lower Radiator Hose - good idea, but I carry silicone tape instead. I have repaired a upper hose with a tire plug before

Accessory Engine Belt - yes, carry a spare serpentine belt because pantyhose doesn't work
Crankshaft Sensor (GEMS) - good idea because you're totally dependent on it
Brake Switch - no, you can short the wires if you have to
Throttle Position Sensor (GEMS) - no, it runs without it
Ignition Module STC1184
Ignition Coil (14CUX)

I don't carry a lot of spare bolts. They can be cannibalized from other parts/assemblies.

The thread discusses power steering hoses. New ones are essential, but I don't carry spares. Worst case is you lose power steering.

The thread discusses wheel bearings. While I think it's important to be able to disassemble and reassemble hubs (for broken axles), good bearings are unlikely to fail.

U joints and flanges are smart

You can drive with failed bushings

You can drive without a thermostat. If it fails, just pull it.

Motor mounts can be booty fabed. It just takes a bolt. And you only need one to be somewhat working.

The starter is essential for automatics, but unlikely to fail. I wouldn't bother carrying a spare on day trips, but maybe for long term exposure. The same goes for the alternator.

A spare battery is essential if you travel alone

Cooling system stuff is critical. That's the water pump, VC fan, etc. It needs to be known-good, but it's more likely to fail gradually than catastrophically.

Fluids. You can use motor oil for everything but the coolant. You could also use ATF for the differentials, transfercase, and transmission. Likewise you can use gear oil for the differentials, transfercase, and transmission. Gear oil is really not needed at all. The ring and pinions are not hypoid so they do not need EP. Some people run ATF in the LT230 full-time. So the best combination of fluids is motor oil and ATF, and of course water. Water is better than antifreeze mix because it's multipurpose.
