it opens the connection using a elm 327 compatible bluetooth spp module, then handles the seed/key challenge, and issues the same commands a dealership tool would do.

I put a lot of time and even some money into developing it and released it free of cost. You might want to actually look at it before writing it off as impossible

 

I have a friend who has the scanner and he is going to help me do it. I plan to try the app with it.

 

I use an app called GEMS Reader to reset adaptive values. It works!

Back to the original poster, I'd say if after changing O2s and IACV and spark plug wires you are starting to loose interest, then this is not the truck for you. I'd sell it, because there's a lot more to these old things that needs attention. I like tinkering in the garage, so working on the truck is part of the hobby that I like.

Well to each his own I always say! I also like to drive it maybe get off-road and have some fun! I may sell it but not because you think I should. So I'll leave it but thanks for the input.

 

Ok so I unhooked the battery terminals and hooked them together for 12 hrs and now it's running pretty darn good with the exception of a misfire.also starts easily yay!

 

Ok so my fuel pump was at 10 psi. Replaced it and all codes gone starts right up and runs great. Thanks for all the help !
