Chevy Express Fan Clutch COMPLETE
So i did what everyone else did with the fan clutch and put in a 2000 chevy express v6 fan clutch. Ran into some issues with taking off the original fan clutch. once that was off i could not get the 4 bolts to remove the fan. ended up drilling the bolts out. drilled out the holes to be able to except the new ones to 3/8's inch. the chevy fan clutch pushes in the fan about 1 and 1/8th inch. due to this i had to grind some of the fan away to keep it from hitting the fan shroud. ended up rounding the outer edges of the fan and taking off about 1/16th off the top of the fan. no more issues and works great.

yes and yes. Standard duty usually means that at "re-coupling" when heated up, power transfer is about 60-70%. Heavy duty is 90%, impacts MPG more. When at normal operating temps, both are coupled at maybe 20%. But don't try to test that by grabbing moving fan blades. Or you could have a new nickname - "Stubby" .
Also if experimenting, fan clutch from late 90's early 00's GMC or Chevy will fit. I have one from a 2000 Blazer. Same water pump threads, same diameter and rotation, $19 at junk yard. I realize that not everyone wants the shame of driving a truck with partz vulturz feathers falling off of it, but there are more Chevy/GMC than Rovers in the boneyards of North America.
