Chevy power steering pump swap success
I have a 94 disco and swaped the bad LR steering pump with a 92 S-10 4 cyl pump. There was no problems saved $$$ Thanks to who first did it.
well...
I am building a winch bumper for my rangie.
its main component is a HMMWV hydraulic winch. i might have to upgrade the power steering pump ... so if the one you put in has similar mounting points i should be golden

Are you planning on using the power steering pump to drive the hydraulic winch?
yes , the H1 power steering drives this hydraulic winch
and so I was planning to do it on the range rover.
only hurdle could be the fact that the LR power steering pump has a higher flow rate. that's where i would change the thing out for a HMMWV pump and cooler to go with it

It was straight forward, it bolted right up the only mod was and a ben in the line and getiing a fitting to make the connection because it was different on the chevy pump.
Advance Autoparts Part # SP16327They say you can pick up the hose with the 90* bend for like $15 also to adapt the only difference.

You loose a lot of the advantage of a hydraulic winch running it off the PS pump, namely 100% duty cycle. Also, there are reports of the steering box not holding up well to the added pressure of uprated PS pumps.
A PTO pump would be a lot better solution.
