Chevy Power Steering Pump Works Great
My power steering pump went out. Symptoms where excessive foam in the P/S reservoir and bad whine at first. After this, I began to notice a bad leak from the P/S pump. My options were 200 for a reman pump or 54 for a 1992 Chevy S10 Pump with a 2.5L. I got a fenco reman pump at Advance Auto for 54 and borrowed their harmonic balancer puller and pulley installer kit free. You will need a heavy duty impact to remove the old three bolt spindle off the old pump (use harmonic balancer puller). You will also need the impact to put it back on the new pump (use pulley installer kit). I got a new hose with a 90 degree bend b/c this pump has a straight barb. Hose was in the back of advanced and was 12 bucks. Pump is working great and lots of money saved. Hardest part was getting the darn spindle off and you will definitely need a heavy duty impact for this or take it to a shop and pay 5 dollars for a mechanic to install.

Perfect fit and retained the stock reservoir. I changed out the atf to valvoline maxlife power steering fluid as I heard it works better in this pump. Pump bolts to existing mounting bracket perfectly. Getting the spindle off the old pump and on the new was not easy but with the right tools can be done in 15mins (impact and pullers). Only mod needed was a hose with a 90 degree bend and in. Note: this was on a 1998 Disco I and do not know if this will work for a DII.
