Default Cigarette lighter plug '96 Disco smaller than U.S. standard size?

Every power cord I've used falls out of my cigarette lighter plug. I can't tell if there is something broken inside the plug or it's just smaller than other plugs. Aren't these all supposed to be internationally standardized? Anyway, has anyone had problems with this?

Euro cigarette lighter plugs are larger, they are called cigar lighters, cigars are larger than cigarettes.

NAPA part# 782-1600 is what I used to replace the cigar lighter on my D2 with the smaller US sized cigarette lighter. It gives you the green lighted ring like on the D2. Not sure what the D1 has. I replaced it while I had my center console out as you have to get behind it for the light that clips on the side of the outer cylinder to light the green trim ring. I had to also cut the push-on blade connector for the ground wire, and crimp on a round lug with small hole, and then put it under the nut that goes on the grounding stud in the rear center of the lighter.

Come to think of it, I should have typed "larger" not "smaller". Sorry. Thanks, Lol.

Thanks for this, RH! I'll look into that lighter.

Just fold some paper to make a wedge. Worried about fire hazard, then don't drive it.

Truck is a hazard, to you and everyone else around you.

Mine is still down, been out since May .
