Default Coolant Leak

I have a clogged radiator. It doesn't overheat while I drive in the Vegas heat, but when I turn my Disco off sometimes it starts to leak from the reservoir. Now I have noticed it leaking back by the transmission. Would this be a cooler line? or what is the part that is back there. Could it possibly be an o-ring?

Leaking from the reservoir...from the cap, from a hose connection, from a crack in the reservoir? Leaking coolant back by the transmission? The only way for coolant to get back by the transmission would be from some leak at the engine, and running down. Possibly a coolant hose, possibly something more. How do you know you have a clogged radiator? Most importantly, what year and model is your vehicle, and how many miles?

It is a '97 SE7 with 128,xxx miles. It is not leaking from the cap. I thinks its cracked, but only leaks when i drive for a long time. Could it be a bad gasket? My theroies of a bad radiator was from some help here on the forum. I am going to do a flush this weekend to see if it is a clogged radiator.

On the subject of the reservoir is it black or white? There was a problem with the black ones and there was a recall and they were replaced with the white ones. I just wanted to mention that so if you actually have a crack that may be the problem.

I have a black one. Rhino u said that you had a bad head gasket? My disco is running the best it ever has for me. Soft idle no noise and sounds healthy. Could it be the calm before the storm? It leaks up by the t-stat now I'm so frustrated with this problem. I hope its not a head gasket any way I can tell if it is?
