Like Spike, I have no idea what the outer diameter of the line would be.

Default high pressure hose / fuel injection hose

Again, and just to be exactly sure, which part of the line is leaking / cracked? Is it the metal line or the rubber hose coming off the filter? If it is the metal then here is the info you asked for... the OD of the fuel line forward of the fuel filter is 8.6 mm. / 0.34in. / 3/8"

Get 8mm or 5/16" (inner diameter) fuel line and those clamps Larry suggested.

OR tie a rag around the leak and you'll have a Molotov Rover ready to go.

Look at your actual metal fuel lines, what condition are they in?

I have a 97 that I started doing a few things on which lead to a few other things that also need to be repaired/replaced befroe it was over with.

My fuel lines from the tank all the way to the engine bay and back were so severely corroded that I had to replace the whole shooting match from the tank connections at the fuel pump all the way to the engine bay. Each place where the fuel line was in a clamp, it corroded to the clamp. Dislodging the line from the clamp resulted in pinhole leaks at each clamp. The filter was also corroded to the clamp which was almost totally gone.

The fuel line is 5/16 ID steel tubing. You can get a 25 foot roll at Advanced Auto for right at 25 bucks. I hand formed it and fed it from the opening in the rear cargo bay a few feet at a time, routed it along the frame and into the engine bay where the original line was intact. i used a few inches of fuel rated tubing at each end with the clamps shown.

It was not that bad a job and I have all new fuel lines now.

how many cracks in the line do you have? if its just one or two buy a few feet of different size fuel lines..it never hurts to have extra fuel line for other projects..its only like $1/ft.

LOL ... I truly am happy to be able to help you. May I suggest you should try to be a bit more clear and thorough in your initial descriptions from now on. Way too much back and forth on this one...

So, you have a bit of cracking in the rubber hose section between the filter canister fittings and the hard metal fuel pipe? And there is NO actual fuel leak at this point? You are simply concerned about visible cracks in the rubber outer jacket of that 4" long section of hose with a screw fitting at one end of it? This...

If I am correct then you need to simply replace that piece of hose with the fittings and the forward pipe. Not a McGuyver fix... replace it with a new and proper piece.

p.s. Pictures help a lot too

Might as well replace the fuel filter also, especially if you don't know when it was last changed. The piece Cosmic referenced is the section from the filter to the fuel rail in the engine bay with the rubber hose manufactured onto the steel tubing. It is the correct part, but for that price you could replace the entire fuel line, fuel filter and then some.

I would check the condition of the entire line. You don't want to replace just a portion of it if the entire length is corroded like mine was. Look at my photo albums and you will see how bad mine was.
