Default Crazy Problem???

Have 99 disco salty edition which would run for five or ten minutes and then engine would shut off. let it cool for fifteen minutes or so and would crank right back up. Now it will not start, the fuel pump is not pumping and there is no spark either. Had a diagnostic plugged in and it threw a code for crank sensor and anti theft. So does anyone have any idea which it could be, and ideas? Tried to read codes again today and i wouldn't even show a code it showed computer locked. called my dealer and they wanna start replacing door latches @ 400$ each? Any ideas fbefore I take the dreaded tow???

I think the first codes you read were right.

If the anti theft goes bad, the alarm sets off anytime, the truck doesn't crank, have no spark, and fuel pump doesn't work. This problem is usually related to the alarm spider. Do a research on the net there is a very good write up on this issue.

The symptom of a crank sensor going bad is exactly what you described; the truck runs for 15 minutes then dies. If you let it cool it starts.

But I really can't answer why the computer is locked. Probably someone will chime in to give you a second opinion.

Is your battery getting low to dead, will the engine still turn over?
Hard to say if you have 1 or 2 problems, crank sensor sure fits the no start issue, the alarm fault could be a problem.
Some how, I would like you to send me your tele number or e-mail address so we can talk and try and help you get this fixed.

Talk to Mike, he can walk you through a few things to check. If you find something, post your results for others...

Sounds like a crank sensor but read this also. It's a TSB for 99 Disco's.
