Default front wiper and washer problem, driving me crazy

At some point my wipers stopped working correctly, they dont park in the down position and it seems they only work in one speed, I assume this is either the stalk or the park switch in the motor. However my windshield washers do not work either. it seems they both went bad at the same time, but I cant be sure. The washer pump works and the hoses are clear (I connected the rear switch to the front pump and now I can wash my windshield) could it all be a problem in the wiper switch or do I just have 2 problems that happened at the same time?

This sounds more like a switch problem to me, the switches are cheaper and easier to replace than the wiper motor.

Yep, the park switch gets it's voltage feed from the stalk switch, so replacing the switch will probably fix all 3 problems.

Hate to be such a ditz - but where are the switches located? I know you mentioned above, but exactly where are they? I need to get my Disco II inspected and my front wipers aren't working...expensive on the service area if it is the motor. Thanks!

The switch we are talking about is the stalk that pokes out of the steering column, you twist and move it to select various functions for the wipers. You replace the unit.

see this link for RAVE page on replacement, and there are work arounds that make it somewhat easier if you decide to DIY
