Default Cruise control issues

I know it's not vacuum related as all of the vacuum lines have been replaced & this precedes them being replaced. The cruise control works just fine for about 10, maybe 20 miles, and then shuts off. Sometimes it will reengage by pressing the set button again and go a bit before shutting off again, but most of the time it won't work for a couple of days after shutting itself off, and all of a sudden, it starts working for a bit as stated above & quits. Ideas??

Okay, I'm lost... Are you talking about my DI ECU that runs everything in my vehicle for a DII, or is there more than (1) ECU??

Cruise Control has it's own ECU.

I have a D1 with a ECU that tested good about 18 months ago. Cruise control was working until a vacuum line came off the thing under the battery tray. I fixed the lines, but no dice. I sort of doubt it's the ECU since it did test good before.

I doubt it could be the vacuum lines as it did the same thing before I had all of those replaced. Since it works when it wants to, it would have to be electrical, right?? Off to find a cruise control ECU.
