Default Cruise Control question

Hello All

I was told that there really isn't much to the cruise control system, vacuum lines and the CC ECU. So I replaced the ECU, the vacuum lines and the vacuum pump but still no luck. I was looking around last night and found the relay switch which seems to be working but it had some funky harness on it. I was just wondering if there is a fuse or something inside the harness that I was not able to see. I did not want to cut it open and look so I took pictures and figured I would ask first before I did something rash.

thanks in advance
ed

Is your main switch good? Also the airbag cable reel goes bad on those cars, causing your airbag light to come on, the horn to stop working, and the cruise switches to not work, or any combination of the 3.

But to answer your question, based on that tag, that looks like some sort of update or recall that was added after the original design. But that's just a guess. Looks like a ground?

Concur on the main switch.I started by replacing the vacuum hoses and during that process found my brake switch dislodged (kicked I guess) which had it activated (cruise disabled). When that didn't fix it, I took a harder look at the main switch on the dash. $12 at the dealer, 5 minutes to change, and CC works great now. One last thing: When I would push the switch, the amber light would intensify and then dim (not go out though). It should stay bright when activated. I pushed the switch and held it in and then tried setting the CC. Voila! Cruise control (and no hands left to steer with...)

The switch works and stays bright amber. I can also hear that relay kick on and off when I push the switch. It may be the brake switch or the steering wheel switches. But the horn works and there is no airbag light on. I guess I should look at all those other things. But first I need to dry out the passenger front floor board from the water.
