Default Cutting antifreeze with....

okay need a pretty quick answer as the Disco's in the back yard with the radiator & water pump out of it, and I picked up one gallon of 50/50 & a gallon of uncut Prestone antifreeze by mistake. I see that city water isn't good to cut it with, and distilled water is for flushing. What do you recommend I use to make this bottle 50/50??

Be sure to reverse flush both rad and heater core. O rings for cooler lines on rad OK?

And for the math word problem thinkers, pour in one gallon of the distilled water, one gallon of the 100% coolant, and top up with the 50/50 premix. Bleed, bleed, then bleed some more.

Got it done! New radiator, water pump, viscous, and replace the alternator again while I was in the area. Took 4 hours to get the darn water pump gasket surface clean (no idea what LR put it on with, but it was impervious to gasket remover!!). Had a bit of an issue with getting he heater to blow hot air )even after purging the air out of the cooling system twice), but after driving about a mile, it blew nice & toasty. Hope this is the end of the high temp issues because there's nothing left to replace!!

It doesn't have to do with being high end. It's the additives in tap water.

Or the naturally occurring minerals.

I wonder if I could use water from my dehumidifier. I know it's not considered safe to drink, because it might be growing bad things since it's never been boiled, but I would think it's free of minerals.

I think I'll just stick with the $0.88 distilled water from the store.
