I think I already mentioned this, but because my odb2 reading show a normal (realistic) coolant temp that I would guess my coolant sensor for the ECM is working. Also when I disconnect it while running I can see the reading goto 0.

Oh. Thats very interesting. Is it easy to open the ECM and check? I'll search around for threads on the matter. But thanks for the heads up.

Again, thanks for this info! Is there a exact sequence I need to be aware of for doing a ECM swap? Does the following look right?

1. disconnect battery
2. swap ECMS
3. reconnect battery
4. push hood alarm switch. (then keep hood open while trying to start engine)?

I'm intrigued about the alarm. I've been starting my disco up constantly with the hood open and no issues...

My guess is the hood alarm switch is only used to set off the car alarm when it's activated (via key remote for example)

So maybe they just didn't hook up all the sensors to show information, but i'm curious if anyone else has different number on their o2 readings? (and what year vehicle they have)

It's my understanding there is (2) o2 sensors near the exhaust headers and then (2) after the catalytic? So from my picture it's almost as if I'm only getting data from one of o2 sensors after the catalytic? Or am I wrong on thing this.
You may be in limp mode or need an ecm

Ok. Now it runs and goes into closed loop after 30/40 seconds. But still having high idle issue (same as always).

And the O2 sensors are showing 0.0. From what I read the first (2) O2 sensors are really the ones that the computer uses to adjust the air/fuel mixture. I'm doing some tests on them to see if they are outputting the right voltage (not using the odb2). From what I've read I should be seeing a change of voltage from around 0.2 to 0.8?

Kinda weird though that I'm not getting a CEL or any error codes for this though.

I have codes and no cel rover is goofy, those o2 are definitely the issue, are they plugged in?, plugs are rear of engine top of bell housing, behind the coils

Fixed the issue. I order a idle control valve off eBay brand new for $9 shipped. and put that in for kicks. Also found a loose wire on a o2 sensor.

Now it idles as it should! Thanx to all for your help.

The o2 is more likely the fix IMO, glad you got it straight

I did notice that the idle control valve makes noise now like its moving. Where as before I didn't notice any noise. Or maybe it's just a louder stepper motor and I notice it.

Weird though that I'm still not seeing volts for O2 sensors on my odb2 port. still shows 0.0v when running. So maybe my O2 is bad. Which I started a new thread about it because of my bad gas milage.
here is the link to my new thread. https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...-mpg-d1-77646/
