D1 Power seat switches
I've had the switches apart three times now and still can't get all functions to work. I cleaned all the contacts well, so I'm not sure what's up. The drivers side will move the seat forward but not back. I can get it to move back using the pass side switch, but it would be nice not to have to do this. I also can't get either seat back to move. Any ideas?
Thanks

Thanks Walt, I'll give that a go. I think the seat back adj. on the pass side is pooched, but all the others work with some combo of switches. Muchly appreciated!

After the same struggle, I replaced mine with a Mercedes switch for about half the price (same switch). Maybe had to mod the plastic a bit? It's been quite a few years ago.
Another idea I read on this forum was to move the mechanical cables out to where you can attach a drill motor. That was very tempting.

Interesting! I was surprised to see "Made in W. Germany" on the switches since '98 was a decade or so after W. Germany was a thing. I'll try Walt's advice first, but if that doesn't work I'll look into Benz switches. I know I'm not going to pay $300.00 a side like my "local" LR dealer wants for them. Thanks for the tip John!

The seat switches are positioned right where people can sit on them (poor design choice). Then the contacts overheat and melt the plastic. Once the plastic melts, it is very difficult to repair. Good luck finding replacements.
