D2 oil pan on D1
This is such a noob question but I hate the fact our D1 uses the crappiest gasket ever...I have replaced it twice...TQ to spec and now its leaking again... I WANT A RUBBER GASKET not paper cork...so I was wondering if the oil pan off a D2 w/ rubber gasket would bolt up to our D1's
Nobody uses a gasket and now you know why. Waste of time, money and effort to no effect. So yes, totally noob. Use this - http://www.permatex.com/brand_right_stuff.htm
....because you used Right Stuff. The gasket is useless, filler material, it serves zero purpose. If you bought it and don't want to waste the money I guess I'd see the point but if you remove the pan often for planned and unplanned events (like many of us do) then I'd sure hate to have the project come to a halt waiting on a gasket to slather Right Stuff on......

Even if you were to use the cork gasket, a gasket dressing/sealant would be more appropriate than RTV.
