Default DI cruise...

Gonna start digging into the cruise control on my 97 D1, the cruise button lights up when pushed and that's all I got set and resume buttons don't do anything, I have a sheet of items to check and will go down the list. Anything that is extremely common that I should try first? I am guessing fuse is OK as the dash light comes on...

Check all vacuum lines, replace. Pull the pump and bench test it. Otherwise the Cruise ECU is probably toast. You can try to fix bad solder joints in it, but a lot of guys aren't even wasting their time with that. Instead they wire in a D2 Cruise ECU and they're back in business.

I had to replace everything in mine - module, pump, lines, and the bellows needs to be done as well. Get a D2 module with a pig tail. I relocated my pump to a more accessible location behind the headlight, no way I was going to try to fit it back in the original spot.

Everything checks out under the hood, not sure when or how to check the vacuum pump, but hoses and wires are OK. now need to check the electrical inside the truck.

How did this turn out? I am about to do my module too. Is it a pain getting the module out or not? Where are you in MN?

Two 8mm nuts and you can slide the Cruise ECU off the studs towards the drivers side. The D2 Cruise ECU can be remounted to the same studs, or just tucked away back there.

He said he is out of them. Do you know what size the vacuum tubing is and how much is needed to redo all of the CC system? Thanks!
