Default diagnose a fuel pump?

Are the fuel pumps supposed to prime on these? When I turn the key on and off I get nothing coming from the fuel pump. I wasnt sure if these primed like most other cars. The valve to check the fuel pressure is much smaller than the one on my pressure tester. Any ideas other than buying a new tester?
thanks

Yes, the fuel pump runs for 5 sec. when the key is put into position 2.

You can check for pressure at the rail by pressing the center pin. Fuel should squirt out good. And even though it looks like a tire stem, is the same size as a tire stem, and is assembled like a tire stem, do not use a tire pressure gauge like me to check the fuel pressure.(even though it works just fine for me)

I used a tire guage on mine and it sprung one heck of a leak immediately. So I unbolted the valve body and took it to the local gas station/tire dealer. They were nice enough to remove the insert, visually match it with the same color code from their bin and replace the valve stem.

It is a schrader valve which is used in a multitude of applications including tires, fuels and loads of other liquids and gasses.

If you don't have a replacement stem and insertion tool, I highly reccommend you get one.

Mine had been missing the cap the entire time I owned the Disco (3 years) so it was degraded. Just be aware they can leak.
