I bought a Discovery from 1991 and would like to know if it has some kind om diagnostic LEDs. I've read that the newer ones has some LEDs underneath the passenger seat, but I can't find anything. (The steeringwheel is on the left but I've checked both sides).

The car is imported, but I don't know from where, only that it is a "non EU country".

It's equpied with a V8, is it 3,5l or 3,9l?

 

Not knowing where your Rover came from or what specific engine management system you're working with, I don't know what to suggest. If, for example, you have the early 13CU system, the only real way to do diagnostics is with Testbook, the Rover diagnostic computer (maybe Rovacom but I never had one so can't say for sure). There are only a handful of sensors involved with that relatively primitive system. A digital volt meter should go a long way to determining what's wrong with the sensors that feed into that Ecu. More common was the failure of the ECU. With the 3.9L, here in the US we saw the simultaneous introduction of the Lucas 14CU system which, in 1990 evolved into the 14CUX system that actually had the LED diagnostic code reader under the right front seat. I don't know what else to tell you.
