DII parts on DI
Morning fellas,
Are there any parts other than the rear door that I can pull off an '00 DII that will fit my '96 DI? (May already be a thread on this, I couldn't find one)
Found a good deal on a '00 but haven't had a chance to check it mechanically. Body is in great shape looks to have an OME lift, MTR's, kalahari wheels, and an ARB bumper.
Wasn't sure if it was worth the purchase just for parts, if it turns out to be a mechanical nightmare. Could definitely recoup cost through sale of ARB alone.
Thanks in advance, Cheers.

Direct replacements without any mods?
Front window regulators and motors
Rear window motors
Window frames
Interior window scrapers
Complete sunroof assemblies
Overhead consoles, front and rear (none of the switches)
Sunvisors
Rear wiper motor assembly
Glove box
Drivers side under dash panel
Headlight and wiper switches on the steering column
Dash vents
Center dash fascia
Center dash ash tray
Center dash coin tray
Footwell kick panels
Door seals (all five)
Rear center console ash tray
Steering rotary coupler (clock spring)
Steering column shroud
Mirror switch
Cigarette lighter
Tailgate hinges
Door hinges (maybe, I've never actually tried them)
I'm sure there are many more parts and maybe a few other people will contribute to the list.

The springs will fit, just not sure of how they will effect the stance. Front shocks will work, but you will have to switch the shock towers and maybe some hardware on the bottom.
Bumper mount points are the same on D1 and D2, I put a 96' D1 bumper on an 03', fit perfect mechanically, needed a little finesse to line up the plastic bumper cap end to the fender well.
And what Paul said...
D2 cup holders fit a D1(the large satellite kind ousted on the trans hump), but that's pretty common.

Headlights! I have D2 headlights on both my D1s. They have a black inner border which I think looks better than the all silver clear D1 headlights.
FishEH- Are you sure the Difs fit? I was told they didn't, that would be good news. Also is there a different cut on the teeth on the D2 difs that make it so front and back are different, yet on D1 they are interchangeable?

Diffs fit but there are a couple of studs on the DI axle casing that could be a tad longer but it they still work.
I've sold plenty for front diffs to people who used them on the rear axle assembly.
In fact, today, I also am shipping out a rear DII diff to a person with a '95 LWB. The roto flex diffs will fit.

I have tailgates from DI's and DII's standing side by side. I'd love to read that thread to see what the problem might have been. I don't see any significant different between the two.
